The Secret Beyond “The Secret.”

the-secretImagine this.
The young heir of enormous fortune goes out for an evening with his friends. They go to a fabulous restaurant and eat all kinds of great food. They go to a club and dance. They stay out till the small hours of the morning, when our hero stumbles out into the parking lot, in a disoriented condition, to find his car. Unfortunately he trips on a pothole in the parking lot, falls to the ground and bangs his head. He is knocked out for just a few moments, but when he comes around he’s forgotten everything; who he is and where he is, and above all, he’s forgotten the fact that he has access to unlimited wealth.

Of course now he doesn’t know which is his car, where his home is or anything else. So he stumbles off into the city and becomes a homeless person. When a person is homeless their life becomes about survival. How can I get enough for me to make it through another day? But being a smart young man, our hero learns some tricks. He discovers that some homeless people do much better than others at procuring what they need. Some even do very well indeed. He goes to ask the most successful of all the homeless people how they manage. “I will share with you a great secret,” says Bob, one of the most accomplished. “A secret that only very few homeless people know. It is a secret that you can never share with anyone…”  Bob goes ahead and shares the hidden mysteries of when the very best restaurants put out their left over food at night. Bob tells him where to go, when to be there, what to look for.
Now our hero is happy as a clam. He feels reborn. Now he knows the secret to being a healthy, wealthy and happy homeless person.

But of course there is a much bigger secret than that. It is a secret for him to remember. The real secret is not about how he can get stuff in his current condition of amnesia. The real secret, of course, is who he really is, where he comes from, and what is his rightful inheritance.
If I say any more, I’m going to spoil the story.
So chew on it.

The hero of this story is you.

I imagine that our hero is dumpster diving one day, happily scoring leftover beef wellington in truffle sauce, when the lid of the dumpster hits him in the head and he wakes up from his amnesia. The question is, will he then remember that he is not only the wealthy man with the fancy car (long since towed), but also remember that he is the homeless person, and also the smart guy with a secret? And if he does remember, what will he choose to do next?

Once you’ve found your true self and keep remembering the lesson learned, you will never lose yourself again.

My personal take – if goes on being a homeless person with amnesia, he might get a nagging feeling that something is missing. A feeling he is not living his live in a way that is true to who he is.
Yes, most of are the homeless person, until we remember who we are really are.

“The secret behind the secret”….is exactly the title of a workshop I have been wanting to give! The thing with “The Secret” movie that bugs me is that it’s all about getting more stuff, more money, bigger house, better job yada, yada. It can increase the blindness or amnesia of who we are beyond all that. I’m curious to see where this story goes since it starts out with him having so much materially.

A cute way to tell the same story fresh and new again. I have been on this path of remembering myself for almost 25 years and finally have come home!! I have read hundreds of book and taken endless classes. This one challenged me financially… I took a class which was 40 days and 40 nights (we have 2 days left I believe)of total Immersion…. staying on track every day with SIMPLE tools done in minutes and I finally GOT IT inside and out! I AM brilliant and fabulous and magical, creative, intuitive, wise, beautiful, abundant, giving, compassionate and so much more!!! I KNOW this now deep inside my soul and there is no going back! I gave myself such a penalty if I go back, I am inspired to live where the rubber meets the road every day. I am here to stay in the place where everything I desire is coming to me now and I am without an attachment to outcome, because I KNOW I AM the Source of my Manifestation and trusting that, I surrender into my Inner Heart’s Wisdom, knowing I am always loved and always cared for and always being guided in ways which are for my highest and best good!

Thank YOU for inspiring me in earlier classes and inspiring others in the future!!
    endless Love, Morgine

One of the important things in the story is that the successful homeless man told the hero his secrets, but told him not to tell anyone else.
We must all remember to share valuable, helpful information with people as the opportunities present themselves, so that they, too, can increase their knowledge-base & share it with those they know or meet.
Knowledge just kept among a few is part of our problem as people right now…it creates imbalance & “levels” in society that no longer need to exist if we are to raise peoples’ basic status, then enlightenment can truly occur en masse.

This simple exercise helps people remember a part of who they are…part of multiple communities of people, small & large, some overlapping, who help each other instead of feeling like lonely islands, only capable of doing so much themselves.

Once community, safety, happiness, and love (simple compassion) are restored to people, they can begin remembering who they are & how very powerful from within they are, creating more happiness, love & safety for the entire world by the ripple effect.
    🙂
Thanks for sharing this story about “Secret Beyond the Secret”!

What a shock to realize the secret is just a high class dumpster – but in that realization does he care?

Absolutely! Until we remember our divine heritage as Love we’re only ever going to be in survival mode, scavenging for scraps to get by on.. getting skilled at filling up that hole inside with bigger and better ‘fixes’ because we remember what if felt like to be full and satisfied…. Yet the hero is open to receiving guidance and more of us are available now who can point the direction to the true home and source of all love within: and remove the blocks to that awareness. This Hero(ine) has found her way Home and is ready to share her secret! xxx

We all have a multitude of varying experiences. Our attention can be put any where. Until our consciousness is held steady in awareness, our contentment will come and go with our changing experiences. I like this story, it can be looked at from many angles. But the question is, has the hero (you) noticed your true nature? (meaning no more amnesia) This is true happiness.

The senses are a gift from God to man…
Sadly man uses them mostly for developing the EGO, not the Soul, otherwise we would not have such a high incidence of cancer from stress & eating the wrong foods for our body’s…
    However..
we can learn to go past the senses…
    to tune into our soul…
this takes us beyond the senses of the EGO…Only here will we find our answer…
    God and I are one…
Live beyond ur dreams, beliefs and conditions…In acceptance of what is, I donot mean giving up or allowing others their way…I mean remember who you are…

Another missing secret of The Secret is using a group people. We can bounce our ideas off them and get instant feedback.

    Arjuna,

what a wonderful analogy! In your post, not only do you skillfully integrate aspects about the movie “The Secret,” but you also weave in higher truths about humanity’s story on earth–that each of us is playing the role of the “homeless person” who doesn’t know who he or she is!

Note: Our higher selves planned this whole earth experience for our own personal growth–so that we would discover firsthand who we really are. Having come from Source (the infinite), we “fell” in consciousness (lost the “inner wealth” of our connection to the infinite), and then we set off to struggle to find that part of ourselves that connects back to Source (learning through contrast or duality–the hardest but quickest way to learn).

Fortunately, you can find “home” (or “Source”) by reconnecting to your higher self. By reconnecting, you will begin to remember (put together) who you really are, and you will resolve all your issues in the process (as a side effect of the process).

Sometimes I forget to remember 🙂

and sometimes I bump my head/heart which can bring on another case of amnesia.

Thanks for a great reminder to remember that I am heir to my own magnificence.

    Hi Arjuna,
    Thank you.

I identify with that homeless man. When I was young, my third dimensional father taught me what to do to be exactly like him, but he was not happy. He was talented and smart and a loyal father, but he was not happy. I didn’t want to be like him. So I only listened to some of what he suggested. I wanted to be an artist and decided that to do that I had to learn to live without much of anything. I willfully entered into a life of difficulty and didn’t ask for help.

Now, in terms of your analogy I remember who my spiritual father is, and would like to change my situation, but am not being trusted fully. Was my father hurt that I spent too much time away?

    Thank you,
    Nancy

    Hi!Arjuna,
While reading the story,I took a look at myself and at this time,I can only say that there are many stages of amnesia. There are ways to give yourself amnesia to keep yourself sane.
Or maybe a higher force give a touch of amnesia for a special reason?
Thank you for being a faithful servant,Arjuna: LD Saint, Mae
